BlogTalkRadio Glitches But Still…First Show Is A Success!

How did it go?

Good news! My first BlogTalkRadio show was a success! Despite about 30-45 seconds of “downtime” due to being disconnected from BTR (had to call back in asap), I was pleased that someone’s loved one came through for her and I was able to pick up on his energy. I was also happy that BTR didn’t disconnect me while I was speaking to this caller. Luckily, the disconnection occurred during the introduction. Whew!

I was also very pleased to see three people calling in and waiting in the queue to speak with me! That’s who will make this radio show work: you, the callers. It’s wonderful to know you want to participate and I appreciate that. We are off to a great start and I thank you. 🙂

Personally

Yes, I was a little nervous but my first caller, Tasha was very patient and understanding, she was up for anything and I appreciated that openness. You see, it’s a mutual effort between myself and the spirit(s). I have to raise my frequency and Spirit has to lower theirs in order for us to ‘meet’ or hear each other clearly.

I also have to clear my mind of my daily concerns, doubts, and filters to make sure I’m getting the correct information. Some days are easier than others. I’m sure all of you can relate to that. Sometimes it’s difficult to concentrate/focus when you have other things going on in your life and occupying your mind.

Special note to Tasha: Please know I’m sending positive healing wishes your sister’s way. I neglected to tell you that on the call.

Technical

Aside from BTR disconnecting me, I also realized there seems a bit of a delay in the phone call. We’ll see if that continues. If so, (I’ve heard it happen on other radio shows), we’ll just have to keep that in mind and work with it the best we can. It reminds me of watching live news happening on TV. You can see the person on location waiting, listening then receiving the question from the anchorperson in the studio. There’s a pause, a nod of his/her head then they answer. On radio, you can’t visually see that occurring so sometimes that means a slightly longer silent pause than we like but that’s okay. It all works out.

I must say it is a challenge to mentally ask a question to those on the Other Side and listen for the message or answers while also trying to make sure there isn’t a long silence for the callers and the audience. During my one-on-one sessions, my clients expect the pauses or, if face-to-face, can see me listening and there isn’t any pressure. With time constraints on a radio show, there’s a little pressure! Plus, 10 seconds on a radio show can seem like an eternity to the listeners.

Reflection

All in all, I think it went very well. Since I’m only allowed 30 minutes, I’ll probably only be able to do one reading per show but please don’t let that keep you from calling in. You never know if there will be a dropped call or if I’ll go right into the readings to fit in two or three calls during the show. I’ll do my best to connect with as many people as time allows.

I have to believe that whomever I speak with is meant to get through and connect to someone at that time: all parties are ready, willing and able to communicate…and technology cooperates! 🙂

Even if you don’t get to speak with me, I urge you to listen carefully to the messages. I often find that there is a message for not only the caller but to a few listeners as well that will help them in some way. It happens to me all the time when I listen to shows. I hear just what I needed to hear that day.

To find out when my next show will be, please subscribe to this blog and you’ll receive an email notifying you about new posts and new air dates. Within a week or two, I hope to have settled on a consistent day and time.

Love and light,

Lisa

Exciting News – BlogTalkRadio Show Coming Soon!

Learning Continues

Hi everyone!

I’ve been busy this past month writing several drafts of posts for this blog, taking a live 3-week online course with John Holland through HayHouseRadio, participating in several online business webinars, and simplifying my creative/writing blog. Still in the process of editing my posts for here and simplifying the other blog but getting things done.

Note: (I am not getting paid to mention John Holland or HHR. I simply resonate with John Holland’s teaching/people skills and really enjoyed the class. I highly recommend listening to HayHouseRadio to find the people you resonate with – there are lots to choose from! I have many favorites: coaches, Drs., mediums, authors.)

Assimilating

My mind has assimilated a lot of information, especially so in the last several months and it’s time to take action. I know I’ve been lax about the blog part of this site and I’ve tried to figure out why.

This gorgeous Red Hibiscus bloomed during a warm day in winter! January to be exact. What am I waiting for?

I think, originally, I simply wanted a landing site to refer people so they could learn a little about me and my abilities and a place where they could contact me. However, while writing some drafts of future posts, I realized it may become more than that and I had to ask myself if that’s what I wanted. I believe the answer is ‘yes’.

I think there was also a degree of fear of continuing to put myself and my experiences in this field out there for all to read about and, perhaps, judge and ridicule but I received so many positive comments here and on Twitter, it helped me decide to continue sharing. I must admit that I’ve needed to take some time to accept the unexpected positive response and figure out how to deal with it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Note: Assimilation is my new favorite word: “to learn (information, a procedure, etc.) and understand it thoroughly.” and/or “to bring or come into harmony.” (via the online dictionary I use). I also like the definition: “the absorption of raw materials.”
I feel like that’s what I’ve done my entire life: absorb information.
I’ve read so many books/articles/posts and listened to online webinars about self-improvement, self-discovery, self-care, business growth, authenticity, and more over the course of my lifetime.
I’ve assimilated the information, took what works for me and retained the information to pass on in the hopes of it helping someone else as well. This is one major thing I love(d) about coaching people. Tapping into what they need to hear or giving them just the ‘right’ resource and tool to grow.
Now, more than ever, I want to bring all that learning and experience into harmony with mySelf and move forward with this venture. It’s an exciting place to be, albeit a bit scary! 🙂
Decisions made!
So, with that said, my goal is to post once a week, not sure if it will be a scheduled day or not. Scheduling something like that doesn’t always work for me so we’ll see if a pattern emerges.
Second decision I made is this: I have set up a BlogTalkRadio show, appropriately called Messages From The Other Side (I like to keep things simple), and will be having my first show this week sometime.
What day and time? Well, I think for the first week or so, I’m going to try a few different days and times to see what works best for me and what day/time works best for callers. I need people to call-in for this radio show to work. I don’t want to make it a one-way ‘teachfest’. I could but that’s not what I want.
I'm ready to fly further!
Like this Giant Swallowtail Butterfly, I’m ready to spread my wings and fly!
Why a radio show?
I had a BlogTalkRadio show for 14 months years ago helping people get hired: teaching people what information goes on a resume and what doesn’t, basic formatting, job resources, fine-tuning your job search and so much more. While I didn’t have a lot of people call in, it did receive more than 11,000 listens. I’m so glad people got a chance to listen to the archived shows. It’s a great platform plus, it’s a lot of fun!
Also, I feel in order to help me make my transition of doing readings on a more consistent and daily basis, I want to step up my experience one-on-one. Will this work? I don’t know but I plan to have a lot of fun testing it out.
As I point out in my opening script (I like to be prepared), if no one from the Other Side comes through, we can always chat about this field and I’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have.
And, who knows? I may receive some information (maybe not from a loved one) but from one of your guides or mine that will be useful to you in your life. I truly believe my intuition has helped me offer just the right words, tools, or resources to people when I’ve coached them and maybe that will come through in the call. I’m pretty curious to see what will happen, are you?
If you (or your friends and/or family) have a preference for a day or time to listen, please let me know. I’m on the East Coast so make sure you tell me what time zone you’re in.
Are mornings best for you? Is lunchtime best for you? Or are afternoons or early evenings (before 7pm EST) the best? Please drop me a quick note in the comments below.
Thank you so much and I look forward to connecting with you. 🙂
